- Internet Banking - Terms and Conditions -

Internet Banking allows you to transfer funds among certain accounts you have at this bank, review account activity and balances and download account statements into personal financial software over the Internet using a personal computer. You choose which accounts you wish to view or access via our Internet Banking Application. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply.          

Use of this product is governed by these Internet Banking - Terms and Conditions, as well as Terms and Conditions governing your other accounts at this bank. Please read these rules carefully and retain them for your records. We have the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time, as permitted by law, by notice mailed or emailed to you at the last known address we have on file. In applying for Internet Banking, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

Access

To access our Internet Banking product, you must have 128-bit encryption and either Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 6.0 or higher or Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher. Information is not stored on your computer unless you download it.

Access to Internet Banking is via our Website: www.vintoncountybank.com or www.rosscountybank.com. The link to Internet Banking can be found on the homepage.

Identification Number and Password

Internet banking is accessed by use of an identification number and password, which we assign to you. Anyone to whom you give your identification number and password will have full access to your accounts and account information even if you attempt to limit that person’s authority. Therefore, you should treat your identification number and password with the same amount of care and secrecy with which you treat your sensitive financial information, ATM PIN and so forth. You agree not to share your identification number and password with anyone else. If you have given someone your password, you are liable for all transactions conducted by that person, even without your permission. If you have given someone your password and want to terminate that person’s authority, you must change your password to prevent further access by them.

If you believe that your password has been stolen or used without your authorization, notify us immediately at the phone number or address below during normal business hours. You may email us at our Website, but do not include any of your account numbers or Social Security number; your name, address and a brief message as to the problem is all we will need.

After we receive your signed Internet Banking application, we will issue an identification number and password to you by mail or in person within 10 business days. Instructions we receive using your identification number and password over the Internet will be treated as if they were your written instructions.

Your access to Internet Banking will be blocked in the event that your identification number and password are entered incorrectly on five (5) consecutive attempts. If this happens, contact our Customer Service Department.

The Internet Banking system will log you off after 10 minutes of inactivity.

Inquiries

You may use Internet Banking to check the balances and review the activity in your accounts. The balance shown may not be your actual available balance. It may include deposits still subject to verification by us. The balance may also differ from your book balances due to outstanding checks and other transactions in process.

Transfers

You can transfer funds from the following types of accounts: checking, savings, HiFi, Rate Watchers, and your Personal Line of Credit. A transfer from is treated as an electronic transfer for service charge calculation purposes. You can transfer funds to the following types of accounts: checking, Checking Plus, savings, HiFi, Rate Watchers, installment loans, real estate loans, note and commercial loans, and Personal Lines of Credit. These transfers can be one-time or reoccurring.

Transfers will be processed the next business day and appear on your next statement. You will receive a confirmation number for the transaction at the time you do it. Any attempted transfer which exceeds the available balance in the account will not be processed.

Business Days

Internet Banking will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except for maintenance periods or at other times when reasons beyond our control make it unavailable. However, we only process transactions and update account information on business days. Business day means Monday through Friday, except for bank holidays. Transfers done after 6 p.m. will be processed one business day later.

Fees

We reserve the right to institute fees for Internet Banking in the future and will notify you by mail or email at least 30 days prior to any change.

Changes and Terminations

You may terminate your Internet Banking service or access to certain accounts at any time by phoning, writing or telling us in person. You agree to allow us up to 10 business days to process the termination.

We may terminate your access to Internet Banking at any time, in whole or in part, for any reason without prior notice.

You may change the accounts accessible to you by Internet Banking at any time by phoning, writing us or in person. You agree to allow us up to 10 business days to process the change.
